Backyard Oasis

It’s finally patio season!!! It’s time to chill outside, in the sunshine, maybe a drink in your hand, a good book, some music, friends, fire the whole works but, it’s difficult to enjoy if the backyard is cluttered, overcrowded and messy. Here are a few tips to help you create your outdoor oasis!

Furniture

Just like inside, if your furniture is broken, torn, mix matched or rusted it does not help the flow of the space. Invest in a matching patio set and store it properly in the winter, preferably in a garage or shed. A matching set helps to tie together all the lose end in a backyard or deck and bring the indoors outside.

Clean your furniture often to avoid buildup of dirt and melted ice cream or whatever else ends up on your furniture. Depending on the type of furniture, a simple water and dish soap mixer will do just fine, but read the fine print on your furniture before washing.

Storage

Tools, machinery, toys, and other objects strewn across the lawn take away from the tranquil experience of birds chirping and children laughing. Store objects in a shed or garage to keep them out of sight. Another option is investing in a deck box where you can keep everyday use objects out of sight and away from the elements.

Décor

A backyard oasis is more than just furniture and storage. Just as in a house, décor makes a huge difference in the vision of the space you wish to create. Whether it be an outdoor rug, some pillows, a lantern, fireplace, some lights, adding these objects can be a cheap way to add beauty to your outdoor living spaces!
